Pay Governance had grown into one of the top names in executive compensation consulting, but the brand and site hadn't grown with it — dated, reserved, underselling the firm to the boards it advises. The job covered both: a full identity rebuild and a new web experience to carry it.
The mandate was to keep what boards recognized and modernize the rest.
There was history worth keeping, and a design committee split on it: half wanted to retire the pyramid, half wanted it untouched. The compromise kept the motif. The redraw came from a bird’s-eye view — a chip built into the geometry, the technology modern pay runs on.
Forest green stayed, the color the firm had always owned, with a volt-influenced lime layered in for energy. Type moved to a single clean sans serif with enough weight to carry the authority of the work.
A consultancy sells its people and its thinking.
The redesign put both up front: the Client-Tailored Services, the consultants behind them, and the Viewpoints research the firm publishes, with an off-ramp to talk to an expert never far away.
The rebuild covered the full system — logo, palette, type, voice guidelines, stationery, and the site — so every new application starts from the same rules instead of a fresh interpretation.
The brand now matches the standing the firm already had.
Name, email, ballpark — takes a minute.
